iPhone Unlock Help

I have been recently trying to unlock my iPhone 3g 4.2.1 baseband 5.15, which is of course one of two (5.15 & 5.14) that are impossible to unlock. One solution is to upgrade to 6.15 baseband, which is a iPad baseband, but after hours of research, It is quite buggy and not really worth it. If your in the same position as me, I would suggest following the developer's blogs and twitter accounts to get the info as to when a solution for this will be released (it is speculated to be released after the new iOS, 4.3, is released.). I will post any info that I find.

Remote Computer Access from your iDevice

After a few weeks worth or research, I have found what I believe to be the best remote computer access apps for free on the app market.
First up: Team Viewer
What is it?
This app is for accessing your computer while otherwise unable to access it. It is the full version of the app as long as you agree to use it for personal/ non commercial use. It will work on Mac, PC, or Linux, and even has an android version.
Second: Remote Mouse Free
What is it? This app is basically what it says to be, a free remote mouse for your iDevice. It is the free version, but you still get full functionality from it.
Third: 4Shared
What is it? This app is the best and biggest file sharing app I've found so far. It's just like the app Dropbox, but it provides 10 gigabytes of free storage versus 2 gigs with Dropbox.
Last: NetAwake
What is it? This app is a wake on LAN app, which allows you to remotely turn on/off your computer. NOTE: Not all computers are LAN enabled (most, but not all), do go to the app's website to see if your compatible.
All of these apps require something to be installed on your computer/each computer you use with the app, and all require an Internet connection to function, with Remote Mouse Free requiring you to be connected on the same wifi network as the computer you are controlling.

Begining on jailbreak Help...

Here's a great chart that up to recently, has almost ALL of the idevices and corresponding jailbreak software.
If any of you out there don't know what jailbreak is, when you jailbreak your idevice, you get access to 3rd party apps, access to ALL files on your idevices,
tweaks to the basic functionality of your ios, and themes for the appearance of your iphone (obviously not the appearance of the physical idevice it's self, just on the ios it's self). Now wait, I can hear the readers yelling at me already. BUT IS IT LEGAL?!?!?!?!? Guess what everybody? IT IS!!! If you don't Believe me, check out these LEGIT articles posted about this very issue:
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/us-government-jailbreaking-iphone-legal/story?id=11254253
http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2010/07/feds-ok-iphone-jailbreaking/
http://www.redmondpie.com/jailbreak-unlock-iphone-officially-legal/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_jailbreaking
And before you yell at me again, let me ask your next question for you. The 2nd article says jailbreaking voids your warranty?!?!?!
Yes, its true. Here's where it says jailbreaking voids your warranty:
The warranty does not apply…(c) to damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Apple;…[or] (e) to a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple.
Another issue you are probably thinking of: Unlocking.
Unlocking is unlocking your iPhone's carrier, so you can use a different carrier that at&t or Verison.
And yes, UNLOCKING IS LEGAL, look here as to why:
http://www.engadget.com/2007/08/24/know-your-rights-is-it-illegal-to-unlock-my-iphone/
And void's the warranty for the same reasons as jailbreaking.
I hope this helped, Make sure you ask ANY questions you have!
